Overview

Fresh from Big Day Out’s Boiler Room, the musical genius of the ultra-versatile and experimental multi-instrumentalist producer, Derek Vincent Smith, Pretty Lights, makes a stop at Auckland’s The Studio.

With Pretty Lights, Derek Vincent Smith shakes the dub step elite with cutting edge electro and organic sounds and serious party rocking beats. Having given away more than 2.6 million album downloads to date the electro pioneer has been described by the UK’s Clash Magazine as a sound “full of chopped-up samples (both vintage and fresh) and deliciously big synth riffs layered over a solid-as-you-like hip hop backbone”.

A regular face at festivals all over the world, Pretty Lights has released five albums and three EPs, along with more than ten singles given away for free over the past couple of years.
