Script to Screen: Central City Short Film Worshop
Move over, Peter.
Overview
For those of you with a burning desire to create stories that'll project on big screens and shimmer on laptops worldwide - but have no clue/a very, very vague clue how the nuts and bolts of making a film work, you might like to head over to the Script to Screen film workshop this weekend.
The Ponsonby situated two-day workshop will feature four talks from prominent New Zealand creatives. Advice will be given on screenwriting from writer/director Michael Bennett (Mataraki, The Factory), casting with Mike Dwyer (Ebony Society, Dotty), producing from Orlando Stewart (The Dump, Ross and Beth) and directing from Jackie Van Beek (Uphill, Go the Dogs).
It'll all then be beautifully tied up with a pitching session where you get to air out those story ideas that have been festering in your head for the last while; or just an idea you came up with over the weekend. The most promising pitch will be chosen by the industry panel and its pitcher mentored by an experienced industry filmmaker to help develop and polish their short film script.
