Overview

Just a portrait of someone in a dress or something more? Selling Dreams: One Hundred Years of Fashion Photography brings together an iconic collection of fashion images through the ages courtesy of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

An elegant tale of contemporary society told through advertisements and fashion shoots, Selling Dreams is a cultural snapshot which portrays the creative and technical innovations in photography over the past century and the dramatic shifts in women’s roles throughout the twentieth century.

Get the stories behind the images at one of the regularly held floor talks or experience the Selling Dreams exhibitions after hours with a series of late night events. The Viva Smart Talk Series features floor talks and panel discussions by leading fashion designers, magazine editors, photographers and others with a finger on the pulse of fashion. Speakers include the V&A Selling Dreams Exhibition Curator Susanna Brown, WORLD director Denise L’Estrage-Corbet, BLACK Magazine Editor Grant Fell and many more.
