Overview
Davis self-released her sophomore effort The Company We Keep in August, and is touring New Zealand this month to celebrate. The record was picked up by radio stations across the country and abroad, quickly becoming one of the Top 3 Self-Released Records on the CMJ charts, and has already made its appearance on several end-of-year Top Ten lists.
Drawing inspiration from the Chopin and Debussy of her childhood piano lessons right alongside with the chanteuses of the 1930s and more eclectic modern acts such as Antony & The Johnsons, Owen Pallett, and Van Dyke Parks, Shenandoah Davis's tiny masterpieces have been branded everything from parlour music to new folk to orchestral pop.
With support from Nadia Reid and Luckless, expect to hear eclectic, melancholic performances at one of Auckland's leading indie live music venues.
