Overview

Show Me Shorts, New Zealand's premier international short film festival, returns for a remarkable 13th year, connecting audiences with quality short films and celebrating excellence in short film making.

Opening nationally on 7 October, this year's program includes 50 of the best short films from around the globe including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Lebanon, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA.

Our own filmmaking talent will be on display with four Kiwi films making their premiere during the festival: One Day by Nicky Cameron, Twenty One Points by Pete Circuitt, Toilet by Simeon Duncombe and Delivery by Stephen Kang.

The short films will be shown at Rialto Newmarket October 7 to 17 but if you fancy a sneak peak of all of the films, and a bit of (short) film glamour, then the Show Me Shorts launch party is at Auckland's Civic Theatre on Saturday, 6 October at 8pm. The winning shorts are announced and prizes presented followed by a viewing of the winning films. Tickets are $29 and include entry to the official after party at the Wintergarden.
