It’s a Tinseltown tinsel-off.

Overview

You've got to admire Hollywood's persistence. Each year a new Christmas film graces the big screen, but we loyally turn to our festive favourites every time. For this week's Silo Cinema, the Christmas classic that will be shown is in the hands of the people. Well, technically at their fingertips, since it's an online vote via the Silo Park Facebook page.

Christmas classics Elf, Scrooged, Home Alone and The Polar Express are being pitted against one another in the ultimate Tinseltown tinsel-off. So before you pack the picnic pav this Friday, make sure you have your say on what you'll be settling in to watch once the sun goes down.

To really get in the festive spirit, show a bit of restraint at the Silo (Christmas) Markets and food trucks and save a couple of gold coins to donate at the Christmas Tree Forest. The Auckland City Mission will receive all proceeds, and you can leave a wish ribbon on one of the trees. While it's the last of these outdoor cinema events for the year, you won't have to pine for them too long — as they return the first Friday in January and will continue throughout the month.
