Silo Social Presents Bollywood Dancing

You’ll need to be on your toes. Quite literally.

Overview

If you’ve been a regular Silo Social attendee, you’ll be pretty hot on your hooves by now. You’ll have already blitzed swing, hip hop and tango, and now the only style that eludes your advanced d-floor skills is Bollywood. But not for long.

Of all the dance styles that have ever graced the disco scene, Bollywood is one of the most daunting. Stomachs are on show, hips are in fast forward, and there seems to be some rub-the-stomach-pat-the-head level coordination going on. Bollywood combines India’s Bombay with American Hollywood, and the dance style reflects the collision between two disparate cultures. Traditional Indian dancing meets a wide variety of other dance styles, including hip hop, Latin and jazz to create a fusion style that is energetic and eccentric, but with undertones of the rich Indian culture.

Hopefully you’ve checked out the rest of the Silo Social classes, because Bollywood dancing is very fast paced and you’ll need to be on your toes. Quite literally. Held by Aaja Nachle School of Bollywood, you’ll learn the Bollywood basics from the best.
