SkyCity Chinese New Year 2021
The street festival will celebrate the Year of the Ox with live entertainment and a pop-up marketplace.
SkyCity Auckland is going all out with its Chinese New Year celebrations this year, bringing back its popular street festival from 11–26 February. The two-week spectacle will celebrate the Year of the Ox and recognise Auckland's rich diversity with a range of live cultural performances.
The precinct's Federal Street will come to life from Thursday, 11 to Saturday, 13 February to make way for lion dancers and a rambunctious display of firecrackers. For those looking for traditional Chinese food, a night market will pop up under the Sky Tower every Friday (12, 19 and 26), while Chinese restaurant Huami will be offering a special set menu throughout the celebrations.
Elsewhere, you can visit the calligraphy and red packet station to create your own Fu with a personalised message. For the full Chinese New Year program, visit skycityauckland.co.nz.
