Meatstock might not be going ahead in 2021, but meat lovers can still get their protein fix this summer at the first-ever Steak Highway 16 Barbecue Festival.
Next February, Kumeu's Morepork BBQ is hosting an entire weekend dedicated to barbecue. There will be rolling barbecue masterclasses, whole hog cooking lessons and a fire wagyu steak pit where you can get your hands on fresh steaks cooked to your liking.
The crew from Jack Daniels and Liberty Brewing are set to be there slinging ice-cool bevies and live music will bring the west Auckland celebration full circle. There are four sessions to choose from, including five-hour slots in the morning, afternoon and evening.
