Overview

Not to be mistaken for what would be an aptly titled David Bain documentary, Summer Paper Round is a paper-based group art exhibition, showing this summer.

Summer Paper Round is a collection of new and recent works on paper by local artists - including Henrietta Harris, Sam Mitchell and Gavin Hurley.

Illustrator Henrietta Harris (picture above) has worked for Vanity Fair (France), Karen Walker, Coffee Supreme and RUBY as well as having had her work appear in shows across New Zealand (obviously), as well as in London and New York. Sam Mitchell has a self-described "obsessive drive to create images", and experimenting with rescued materials (including decommissioned library books). Meanwhile, Gavin Hurley's collage-portraits are seeped in obtuse pop culture references.

All works on show are for sale. The exhibition runs from 19 November until 20 December at the Melanie Roger Gallery.
