They can usually be found cleaning up our beaches, but for one night this August, the folks from Sustainable Coastlines will scrub up themselves for the annual Sustainable Coastlines Charity Ball. The glitzy event is held as a way to raise funds for the organisation’s ongoing work and to inspire and educate others about the state of our coastlines and waterways.

For its fifth outing, the ball will be held on Saturday 29 August at downtown Auckland’s Hilton Hotel. As a way to give your two cents (hopefully more) to Sustainable Coastlines, silent and live auctions will take place with property auctioneer Sabine Davison behind the gavel.

Tickets also include a three-course meal, copious amounts of liquor to loosen up those wallet strings, and entertainment from five-piece ‘50s and ‘60s rock n' roll band The Rocking Roller-Coasters and DJ Murry Sweetpants.

The official after party will follow at well stocked whisky den The Jefferson.
