Tahuna Breaks Live At The Cloud

If there's one thing this week that's got me ignoring the fact it's still kinda chilly, it's the news of Tahuna Breaks playing an afternoon gig at The Cloud this Saturday.

Overview

It's around about this time of year that little things crop up that make you realise Summer is on it's way. The odd scorcher day that Spring throws into the mix, the smell of lawn clippings and the couple of brave BBQs (where it's actually not warm enough to drink outside, but we act hardy and pretend like it is).

But if there's one thing this week that's got me ignoring the fact it's still kinda chilly, it is crowd favourites Tahuna Breaks playing an afternoon gig at The Cloud this Saturday. Come on, sunshine!

With seven members, Tahuna Breaks throw down a live act that is always unpredictable, bursty with energy and undoubtedly large. The group's sound combines aspects of the 60s, 70s and 80s and is influenced by artists as varied as James Brown to Daft Punk. The band is well known for being unafraid to mix genres and have honed their sound on the live stage that encompasses funk, disco, soul, live electronics and roots.

Teaming up with Cornerstone Roots and King Kapisi, Party Central can look forward to a certified afternoon of kiwi summer sounds at their best. Tahuna Breaks have been a little under the radar working on their new album, due for release next year, so not only can we look forward to the run of old favourites, but also dabble in a couple of tracks showcasing their new material.

Kick your Saturday night off early with an afternoon of Tahuna tunes. And just to sweeten the deal, the gig is free. Good like that.
