Overview

Atholl Anderson and Aroha Harris, (along with the late Judith Binney) wrote Tangata Whenua: An Illustrated History, one of the most important books to have been published in New Zealand.

This book tells a complete history the Mäori people, starting before the first arrival in New Zealand and ending in the modern day. Amongst all of the wonderful international acts attending The Auckland Writers Festival this is a unique talk as it provides an opportunity to learn about the history of our country in a way that you may never had before. Mäori leader Ngarimu Blair will discuss the fascinating history that Anderson and Harris outline in Tangata Whenua.

This one is free and doesn't require booking, making it an easy option to cruise along to on the Saturday.
