Overview

The indomitable TEDxAuckland is returning to the city of sails for one day only on 13 October to showcase some local stories worth sharing. This year the TED team is going back to basics with 17 inspirational speakers from a diverse range of passions, backgrounds and professions.

The theme this year is 'Off Piste', inspired by those who abandon convention and throw themselves off the beaten path or into the deep end, regardless of how much it scared them, to achieve incredible things.

Local legends who will speak and inspire on the day range from cancer survivor Jess Quinn and entrepreneur Andrew Barnes to activist Richie Hardcore and doctor and author Zeshau Qureshi. Rumour has it that there are unannounced additional speakers to surprise and delight on the day.

In addition to talks, as if that wasn't enough, there will be performances from dance groups and entertainers and a huge range of food and beverage options from local Auckland culinary creators.

Doors open at 9am and TEDxAuckland will wrap for another year at 6pm, with an after party at a nearby, to be announced location.

Tickets are $199 and are still available, however, last year's event sold out so don't leave it to the last minute to snag your tickets for fear of missing out.
