Overview

You'll find so much more than just fresh air and exercise at The Big Bike Film Night. This year's collection of films will feature everything a cycling-centric audience could want: action, drama, humour and plenty of inspiration. It's an evening out that provides two hours of short films "unashamedly, unequivocally, and utterly Bike-alicious!"

The treasure chest of stories includes a mountain bike journey across harsh desert landscapes, a New Zealand female road cyclist who believes in the power of bicycles, an attempt to beat the record for the longest continuous bike ride in a single country on a single-speed fixie, the remarkable story of an American cellist who challenges the notion of limitations by travelling over 6000 kilometres on cargo bicycle, Kiwi BMX riders with a passion to see the youth of today succeed, and twin uni-cyclists strutting their stuff.

The 2018 The Big Bike Film Night will start its tiki tour of the country in Palmerston North before making its way through small towns and centres across the country. It will land at Auckland's Academy Cinemas from May 22-25, with separate screenings at Waiheke Island Cinema and Devonport's The Vic on May 23.
