Overview

In an attempt to ease the pain of the weekend’s Soulfest cancellation, Auckland’s purveyors of ‘party everything’, The Black Club, will present a Sunday session to rule them all.

Legendary musician Che-Fu will come out of hiding for a rare solo performance. As well as being a founding member of Supergroove, the songwriter is considered one of the pioneering artists to fuse both hip hop and Pasifika genres. As a solo artist he has released three albums, the best known being 2001’s Navigator which spun off iconic singles ‘Misty Frequencies’ and ‘Fade Away’.

Also taking the stage will be Young Gifted And Broke affiliates Team Dynamite, neo-soul singer Bailey Wiley, observational hip hop producer Melodownz, Christchurch beat maker Haan808, Home Brew crew's resident producer/beat maker Haz Beats, plus Not Much, Rei and Toru.

As proceedings wind down at BCC, the party will head next door to 1885 with regular Black Club disc jockeys showing off their prowess behind the decks. Namely: Mac Mylo, Team On Point Music, Mez Tekeste, Mac Major, Katana, Jordache, Thomas Rose, T1R, Allen Pea, Dan & Dylan.
