Overview

Called the "Happiest 5k on the Planet", The Color Run is a hyper-colour fun run where it's less about smashing your personal best and more about crossing the finishing line looking like a beautiful rainbow.

This year's 5km course will be held at Albany's QBE Stadium. Attendees will be given a custom Color Run t-shirt and race bib for the event and are encouraged to dress in white to amplify being doused from head to toe in coloured powder. Running is entirely in the legs of the beholder, and everything from walking, skipping, dancing and cartwheeling is acceptable along the course.

After making your way through clouds of food-grade cornstarch and brightly-coloured foam, you'll round out the experience with the Finish Festival — a chance to release more endorphins, show off your dance moves and flood your sinuses with even more colour. Expect to be blowing the chalky dust out of your nose for days following.

The Color Run was founded in the USA in 2011 as an initiative to promote healthiness, happiness and individuality. It has now held more than 300 events in over 50 countries.
