The Colour Run

Think about this for a second; you're out in the sunshine, running blissfully with friends through a hazy cloud of bright colours, everyone around you is smiling and there's music pumping.

If it sounds like the kind of thing you would only experience in your dreams (or hallucinations), your world is about to be turned upside down.

The Colour Run is branded the "happiest 5k on the planet", it aims to boost your endorphins and is reminiscent of a commercial fun-run version of the Hindu Holi festival. You can start the day by taking part in a mass zumba warm up class, then run (or walk) 5 kilometres with your mates in a cloud of colourful dry paint, and finish the day's festivities with a party.

Boasting events in over 200 cities in 40 countries across the year, clearly The Colour Run has taken the world by storm, leaving people in a brightly coloured euphoria since 2011.

This may be one of the only times you're encouraged to dress head to toe in white so make the most of it and get in the spirit of the run, you only live once.
