Overview

The eighth outing of Auckland Restaurant Month will return to the city centre from 1-31 August with over 100 special menus, 25 intriguing dining events, a host of visiting international chefs, and a whole lot more reasons to simply leave the house and eat.

For the first time the dining extravaganza will play host to The Curious Food Festival, a food event dedicated to adventurous and one-off dishes. It will take place at Shed 10 on Saturday 18 August. More than 12 inner city Auckland restaurants will create their most imaginative and delicious dishes for the event — organisers have already hinted at creations like cracked coconut rice burgers, seafood fusion teppanyaki and pasta slathered in gooey goodness from a cheese wheel.

Alongside the experimental fare there will be an abundance of wine and no fewer than seven craft breweries offering up intriguing brews. Entertainment will be provided by The Biggest Little Circus and DJ Arii Jade. The first 2000 punters will get through the door for free. Thereafter, entry will be $5 at the gate.
