Overview

Wanna supersize your theatre experience? The Feast offers a delectable combination of three bite-sized new plays served with tasty treats and mouthwatering delights.

Red Leap Theatre Incubator series brings you three inventive shows over six nights. But the Friday October 18 show is extra special. On that night only patrons can expect a three course meal served in stages before as well as in between each play courtesy of POPDining. The dishes include braised lamb and aubergine topped with cherry tomatoes, pacific croquembouche made from taro, and a white russian cheesecake and citrus profiteroles for dessert.

All three works are by emerging theatre companies which have gone through Red Leap Theatre's Incubator programme. Refiner’s Fire Collective presents Halfatasi which explores what it means to be born into two cultures and the conflicts which arise when you attempt to embrace them both. European theatrical tradition marinated in the flavours of Samoan movement and song, served with a side of history and drizzled with some identity crisis.

The Soldier's Heart and The Feathered Girl by Le Petit Workshop is an original folk tale of a cursed child born covered in feathers and a beast’s stolen heart. Stuffed with a sweet and sour love story and garnished with a generous helping of 3D and shadow puppetry, striking characters, and magic.

Nikki Bennett and Company's The Clown That Ran Away From The Circus tells the tale of a delightfully naive clown who runs away from the circus to explore the big and often terrifying city. Immersed in the marinade of clown, projection, and mask – there is a new clown in town.
