The Gaslamp Killer
It's pretty safe to say with the return of Gaslamp Killer, the underground at Be Club is looking at a night of next level performances.
Overview
Get excited, folks, this week will see The Gaslamp Killer return to New Zealand for an exclusive nightclub gig for the first time in nearly a year. Getting in on the touring action is leading local electronica heavyweights Crushington, who will be debuting their new, fully integrated live show. It's pretty safe to say the underground at Be Club is looking at a night of next level performances.
When it comes to live performance it is The Gaslamp Killer that is perhaps the deadliest of all the Los Angeles' era-defining Brainfeeder collective. Acclaimed for vigorous DJ sets and deeper leaning production work, the shaggy-haired, well-moustached beat scientist who dances in triple time while in the mix, presents a wildly psychedelic take on hip-hop, modern beat and bass music, and the studied art of turntablism - man, that's a cool word.
Originally from San Diego, Gaslamp Killer came into his own in the hip hop mecca Los Angeles, where co-founding the Low End Theory club night connected him with Flying Lotus and the rest of the Brainfeeder freak colony.
Having previously made New Zealand performances at Splore and Rhythm & Vines, as well as several transcendent intimate nightclub shows, his reputation on our shores is well documented and there's probably no better way to welcome in the weekend than with a night of Gaslamp beats.
