Overview

James Bond turned the ripe age of 50 last year and he's still going strong, with the next Bond film due for release in October 2015. My first encounter with Agent 007 was in the guise of the charming, and rather amusing, Pierce Brosnan. Who can forget that ridiculously far-fetched boat chase scene from The World is not Enough? Perhaps you favour Sean Connery as the most charming secret spy of all time, or prefer Daniel Craig's darker, troubled take on the role.

Whichever your most beloved rendition may be, I think we can all agree that the films' epic soundtracks have been key to lifting the action scenes to the heights of thrill, suspense and comedy.

And now, us ordinary folk can immerse ourselves in the drama and adventure of James Bond, all from the cushy comfort of the Aotea Centre's seats. Quantas presents a one-night-only performance of The Music is Bond on 21 August. Tim Beveridge will sing his way through the film series' best songs, backed by the full power of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra—with Hamish McKeich at the helm. Most importantly, you get to dress up in Bond-themed attire (which may even win you a prize)!
