The Very Vintage Day Out 2015

Back for the fourth time, The Very Vintage Day Out is a festival of vintage culture. There is all day all-day entertainment with live performances of Swing, Charleston, Jazz and Rockabilly as well as a fashion show displaying authentic and replica vintage garments. Shopping aficionados prepare yourselves, not only can you purchase these clothes after the show, all the best vintage beauty, homeware, fashion and knick knack goods from across New Zealand will be on sale at over fifty stalls. Tired from all that expenditure? A high tea will be on offer, providing all you shopped-out vintage buffs with some much-needed refreshment before you partake in some workshops in vintage hair and makeup by Phoenix cosmetics, go-go and swing dancing as well as burlesque.

The festival will be held over an entire weekend this year, with Talia Stephens, Organiser and Founder of The Very Vintage Day Out saying “we’ve been amazed by the growing support for the event over the past three years and since so many people come from all over New Zealand to the Very Vintage Day Out we thought we should make a weekend of it this year.” If your swingin’ shoes are still intact after all your day-time pursuits, you can get your jive on at the Very Vintage Day Out After Dark dance party - The Wildcat Shakeout following the daytime event, and then a Tiki Party the next day at The Backyard in Northcote.

The Miss Pinup New Zealand pageant will also be held at the festival. The Miss Pinup New Zealand 2015 will be contested over by ten vintage babes from around the country, who will use their wel-honed vintage skills to try and snag the coveted crown. Judges of the pageant include Silver Scroll 2014 winner Tami Neilson alongside Australian Pinup Ruby Rabbit and Creative Director of Glory Days magazine Rose Jackson.

Patrons are encouraged to get into the spirit of the day with great spot prizes for the best dressed ticket holders, with a pamper parlour on-site to help make sure that you are in the running for this auspicious award.
