One in four women in New Zealand have had an abortion, yet it's something that is rarely talked about honestly, if at all. Undeterred by a difficult topic, Jodie Molloy has crafted an honest narrative consisting of five monologues which feature women going through an abortion. Molloy approaches the topic with sensitivity and grace, but never sugarcoats the women's plights.

Starring Shortland Street's Natalie Medlock, this play jumps from Victorian-era Europe to mid-century Brooklyn, into the depths of WWII and from modern-day Melbourne to an imagined future in 2045. Throughout the diverse settings and periods in history, the narratives of loss and grief are common as are the effects that law and social landscapes have on a woman's free choice. This is a play of intimate experiences packed with staggering substance and heart - guaranteed to stay with you long after you walk out the doors of the Basement Theatre.
