Overview

Our poor wee brains get put through a lot, and sometimes they put us through a lot.

This October, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Basement Theatre's monthly storytelling gathering will present three speakers as they reveal when their brains dropped the ball and threw them in the deep end. Issue #51 of The Watercooler is hosted by comedian Donna Brookbanks, with tales from poet and artist Vanessa Crofskey, corporate shill and podcast producer Logan Joblin, and high school teacher Keith Paterson.

Inspired by well-known storytelling events like The Moth and This American Life, The Watercooler is a platform for people from all walks to tell stories both true and imagined. Storytellers are given a simple brief to share a story inspired by the month's theme, whether based on real experiences or entirely fictional.
