Two kiwi icons will be reunited when this weekend when TrinityRoots make their return to the Leigh Sawmill. Following a successful summer tour that saw them play alongside Ladi 6, Cornerstone Roots and Fat Freddy's Drop, Trinity have announced two shows this April 6 and 7.

After reforming in 2010, TrinityRoots have returned as a tour-de-force on the New Zealand music scene. With sell out shows and performances at some of Australasia's biggest dub and roots festivals they simply remain one of the best - even with a 5 year hiatus.

If you need anymore convincing perhaps a woman's touch would help. Following the departure of drummer Riki Gooch, the remaining members Warren Maxwell and Hunuki Hemopo recruited Jean Pompey  to drive the beat of the drums. Her tones and fresh inspiration adding a unique dynamic to the band.

If you haven't had the chance to make the pilgrimage to the Leigh Sawmill, this is a fantastic chance. It's a lazy journey to Leigh - jump in the car Saturday morning and stop off at the Matakana Markets on the way. Once you've had your fill of buffalo burgers, mussel fritters and worked them off with a quick dip at the beach you can set your sights on the Sawmill. With plenty of accommodation options in Leigh it's pretty much a no brainer.

The Leigh Sawmill is one of the best live music venues in the Auckland Region. Rich in history, it offers a cozy environment for music lovers to get up close and personal with the musicians. Its great pizza menu is also accompanied by a fantastic selection of beers brewed by the Leigh Sawmill Microbrewery. If you're a pilsner fan, check out the '12 Gauge'. It's fantastic.
