Overview

What do you get when you team Oscar-winning Kiwi funnyman Bret McKenzie with Aussie comedian Hamish Blake of “Hamish and Andy” fame? What else but Two Little Boys of course.

This grisly black comedy is Robert Sarkies third full-length feature after Scarfies (1999) and Out of the Blue (2006) and he shows his versatility here with a wildly different kind of film based on the novel by his brother Duncan.

Two Little Boys follows the misadventures of best mates Nige (McKenzie) and Deano (Blake) as they deal with the horrifying prospect of covering up an accidental murder or as described on the official facebook page, “an unfortunate incident involving a hot meat pie, a ginger cat and the untimely death of a Scandinavian soccer star”.

I reckon this film would be worth it for the awesome haircuts alone but I’ll also be intrigued to see how the dynamic develops between McKenzie and Blake, two comedians better known as being the other half of Jemaine Clement and Andy Lee respectively.
