Overview

Grab a cold cider and some popcorn and pull up a rug to share with your loved one. Settle in and enjoy the 80s cult classic The Princess Bride. This is a great alternative to splurging on an overbooked restaurant for a three-hour degustation, while trying not to eavesdrop on the table next to you and their relationship drama.

If you haven't seen this classic movie yet, you may recognise Robin Wright. She plays the damsel in distress in this well-known fantastical love story — a far-cry from her staunch matriarchal role of Claire Underwood in the hit TV show, House of Cards. This fairy tale features everything you'd expect from a movie of this genre: pirates, giants, and evil prince and a beautiful princess.

Great news, this is not just a date night activity. The PG rated film means all are welcome. And even better news — it's free.

Silo Park's annual screening of The Princess Bride starts at 9pm with food trucks and drink stalls open from 5pm. No tickets are required so as always, turn up early to secure a good spot. Keep an eye on the weather, as it is a completely uncovered area. Don't forget to BYO bean bag.
