Overview
If you've been flirting with the idea of veganism but don't know where to start, then Vegan Virgin at Scarecrow is for you.
From 6pm on 16 August, you'll be able to sate your curiosity with a three-course meal aimed at lifting the veil from the world of veganism. Pumpkin, spinach and walnut "mince" ravioli start the evening off before moving on to a hearty plate of tah dig. This delicate Iranian dish comprises of rice, saffron-braised fennel, garlic and orange with an activated charcoal chickpea puree to give it an earthy kick. A poached tamarillo with orange blossom, coconut labneh, ginger and raisin crumble will ensure you finish on a high. There will also be vegan wine matching available from Loveblock Wines.
It doesn't matter if you're resolutely meat and three vege or an experienced vegan; this is an inclusive evening aimed at educating, satisfying and seducing diners. The $49 ticket price will get you the three-course meal with a welcome drink, or you can add a glass of wine to every course for an extra $29 (alternatively, wine is $12 a glass).
