Overview

Sam Hunt has been writing and performing poetry for over forty years, both here in NZ and internationally. Although well known as a poet, he is especially renowned for his delivery. He has received a multitude of awards and has collaborated with many musicians including Split Enz, Gareth Farr, The NZSO and APO, and has been a special guest on stage to Leonard Cohen.

Hunts self professed style can be found in his maxim:

'Tell the story
tell it true –
charm it crazy.'

-And his performance promises to be just that, charming, crazy and true. Kashka Tunstall called him the bad grandpa of  New Zealand poetry for his swagger and crudeness.
