What better way to welcome the warmer weather than by slipping on a nice frock, securing a fascinator to your noggin and drinking a slurry of cool beverages; all while being entertained by a series of races performed by small men on large thoroughbreds.
Join in at Whips n Spurs on Saturday 22 October for a day of orderves, French champagne and strapping colts (oh yeah, time to brush up on that horse lingo) at Ellerslie's Cuvee area.
Kicking off at 12.30pm, with the first race starting at 1pm, you can allow yourself to sit back trackside, place some bets based on the names alone, and post-races soak up the tunes DJ Marina Katerina will be spitting out on the decks into the evening.
