Overview

Auckland Arts Festival is back this year and with more inspiring exhibitions and installations being hosted for one night on March 12, White Night is here for all your artsy needs. Hailing from Europe, the all-night art event derives from the French festival Nuit Blanche; a sleepless night. Conceived in Paris in 2002 to make art and culture accessible to large audiences within public spaces, the event has since inspired an international network of events globally.

The free event will kick off at 6pm and go until midnight, stretching far and wide across central Auckland. The event will be inhabiting galleries, parks and the streets, with more than 100 locations across town. Visual art, illuminations, theatre, film, design and music will be on display to the public, making spectators fall in love with Auckland City all over again.

To name a few of the events on offer, Black Door Gallery will be hosting a light-only exhibition; Steve Bolton, artist, cartoonist and illustrator will be creating a live-work piece, evolving with his surroundings, and the White Face Crew will be miming their way around the venues.
