Overview

When considering a burger, you probably visualise a juicy hunk of meat bursting forth from plump buns. With a philosophy to 'make burgers, not war', Wise Boys Burgers proves that mouthwatering burgers can also be created without using animal products. Regularly found roaming the streets of Auckland, the food vendors serve plant-based offerings that utilise everything from kidney beans to kumara, sundried tomato and grilled tempeh in place of bloody murder.

This month the team will pull the handbrake on their little scrap-metal-and-recycled-pallet-burger-shack for a pop-up at Dominion Road toast café The Midnight Baker. The menu will include all of the WiseBoys classics including the kumara Moroccan-spiced patty and deep-fried crispy tofu. The much-loved smoky barbecue jackfruit burger will also make an appearance.

Because no burger is complete without accompaniments, the vendors will also line up their infamous fries with egg-free aioli.
