Opening a little later in the month at the Auckland Art Gallery, X Marks the Spot: Histories Negotiated showcases artists' explorations of concepts relating to the landscape of New Zealand and historical events related to the land — events such as the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Curated by Emma Jameson, it is part of New Zealand Art: Opening the Past to the Ever-changing Present | Toi Aotearoa: Mai i Mua ki te Ao Hurihuri and includes work from Allen Maddox and Kura Te Waru Rewiri.
