A Whisky Lounge is Popping Up Inside Harbourside Ocean Bar & Grill

Exciting things are happening inside Harbourside Ocean Bar & Grill. As well as a recent menu overhaul — which can only be described as the freshest seafood experience in Auckland — the waterfront venue is now turning its attention to the 'water of life' with the launch of a new whisky lounge, suitable called: The Whisky Lounge.

Led by Highland distillery Chivas Regal, the pop-up bar will be open for six weeks through winter inside the old ferry terminal-turned-restaurant. Whisky is unquestionably the star of the show and the menu will offer 12, 18 and 25-year Chivas varieties for the tasting. There will be a bottle service if you intend to go the full nine yards, as well as a range of classic cocktails to warm the cockles even further. Drinkers will have the choice of: Morning Glory Fizz, Extra Old Fashioned, Rob Roy and Touch of Spice.

For the indecisive, whisky flights will come in drams of three, and whisky masterclasses will be held for those who would like to expand their knowledge beyond the bottom shelf. Held across three dates with Pernod Ricard Spirit Ambassador, Logan Demmy, the classes will explore the art of blending the different malt and grain whiskies, creating whisky cocktails, and how to pull off food pairings with your favourite tipple.

Find The Whisky Lounge at level 1, 99 Quay Street, CBD from this Friday. It will be open everyday, and Thursday to Sunday until very late.
