The "disruptive burger brand" tipped to launch at the North Shore's new dining precinct has been announced as the work of BurgerFuel Worldwide (BFW). Rather repeating the hefty offerings found at the nationwide burger chain, BFW will introduce an entirely new burger brand into the New Zealand market.

The concept, called Shake Out, will serve a stripped back menu of burgers, shakes, sides and sundaes at a cheaper price point than its sibling eatery. Diners won't find flashy accoutrements like pickled beets and truffle mascarpone; the menu features four straightforward burgers including a cheeseburger ($8), double cheeseburger ($10), chicken burger ($9) and veggie burger ($9). In the sides department there's skin-on shoestring fries ($4.50), cheesy fries ($6.40) and a whole pickle served in a disposable cup ($2.50). To wash everything down will be milkshakes using organic dairy and a range of sodas.

Shake Out has been designed to be quick service with orders placed and paid for via a cashless kiosk system. To streamline the service further, orders are sent straight to the kitchen and customers are notified with a buzzer once their order is ready. The kitchen will not offer customisations to save on time and will not cater to allergies.

BFW CEO Josef Roberts says "We saw a gap in the market, as well as an opportunity within our skill set to create a new concept that could deliver simple, premium burgers at speed, without compromising on the overall customer experience."

The first Shake Out store is now open within the Goodside precinct at Smales Farm. Its current hours of operation are 11am-4pm. Further eateries confirmed for Goodside include a hole-in-the-wall bagel joint, a fresh sushi eatery, a new contemporary Thai eatery, and an on-site brewery churning out 30 kinds of craft beer.
