After a kitchen fire that was originally thought to see Federal Delicatessen closed for months, Auckland's beloved 1930s New York inspired deli is set to re-open this Saturday, May 2nd.

Earlier in the month a fire occurred in the kitchen of Al Brown's neighbouring and award winning joint Depot, which spread through to Federal Delicatessen causing both eateries to shut up shop for several weeks. Depot re-opened last weekend, and the beloved Fed will re-open its doors at 5pm this Saturday. Hooray.

With the comedy festival hitting full swing and the weather not exactly playing ball, well done to the team for turning around this Federal Street classic.
