Looking for a new CBD haunt that won't break the bank? A fresh new offering aimed at catering to tourists and travellers through Auckland has arrived — but its cheap-as-chips menu means we're guessing locals will be getting in on the action.

Found on the ground floor of the new budget Lylo accommodation in the city centre, Miss Lucy's provides a cool space to chill and catch up with both old friends and new.  The team at CTRL Space (Sunset, Hotel Ponsonby) are behind the fit-out so expect a chic industrial vibe. High-top tables provide views over Nelson Street and the Harbour Bridge, while a series of couches are perfect for lounging with a cocktail in hand.

Ah yes to the drinks — probably what you came for. Catering to budget-conscious travellers (and Aucklanders) there are several cocktails on tap including an espresso martini, as well as two frozen cocktails to beat Auckland's summer heat.

There are also local beers like Tuatara Pilsner, Tuatara Hazy Pale Ale, and Miss Lucy's Low Carb on tap — as well as a signature cocktail called Love Potion 54' (vodka, Red Bull, and lemonade) which sounds like a hangover and a half if you ask us.

If you're sinking a few of those you'll need something to line the stomach — luckily nothing on the menu will set you back more than $20. There will be a lineup of classic Hemingway pies — throw one back on its own or enjoy it with pepper sauce, mushy peas and fries. If that's not your bag, opt for tacos, burgers, poke bowls, chicken wings and more.

A series of specials will keep things even-more well-priced — think burger and beer combos for $20 on Mondays, $8 house wines on Wednesdays, two tap cocktails for $20 on Thursdays, and $10 Malfy Gin all night on Fridays.

If you're the kind of person who chooses your watering holes based on activities (we're looking at you, Hinge daters) you'll be well supplied — the bar has a dedicated director of fun and games so vibes won't be dropping. A giant shuffleboard will help bring a little competition to proceedings, while Tuesday quiz nights, Friday night DJs, and regular Latin-themed dance parties in the diary.

Whether you're in transit and looking to make a few mates for the evening or you're a local looking for a cost-effective evening out, this one will tick all the boxes.

Miss Lucy's is open seven days a week from midday till late at 54 Cook Street, on the ground floor of the new Lylo pod hotel.
