Overview
If you prefer your cocktail to come with a side of ceremony, you're going to want to park up at inner-city hotspot Onslow this summer.
The elegant eatery from celeb chef Josh Emett and his wife Helen has become known for its "refined but not fine-dining," menu since it opened late last year.
Now, Onslow has teamed up with one of the country's favourite distillers, for an elegant new bar service option throughout the summer months — a martini trolley, brought right to your table.
The Scapegrace martini trolley will be on offer during Onslow's lunch and dinner service, with both vodka and gin martinis on offer depending on your personal preference.
Emett said the idea was sparked during his years in London, where he "fell in love" with the traditional service ceremonies at Claridge's and the Savoy.
"Trolley service was a big part of that style of service and is something that has always stuck with me wherever I have gone," he said. "I believe it elevates the Onslow experience to a whole new level and creates a point of difference in what we do."
So when you're in need of a refreshment stay in your seat — waitstaff will be on hand to enquire if you want your martini with gin or vodka, dry or dirty, or with olives or a twist. It's then mixed and poured right in front of you. For the record, we'll take dirty gin martini, stirred, with two olives. Cheers.
Onslow can be found at 9 Princes Street, Auckland CBD. It's open daily for lunch and dinner from 12pm to late. For more information on the Scapegrace martini trolley, head to the website.
