Overview
It's generally accepted that craft beer (which often isn't pasteurised) loses its vibrancy after about four weeks. With the journey from a brewery to the consumer's fridge typically involving a warehouse and a few weeks on a retailer's shelf, your beer experience isn't necessarily always as fresh as it could be.
Here to help craft fans enjoy boutique beer in the best possible condition is Beer Hug. Launching this week, the online marketplace was started by Adam Prentice and Dan Phillips, who both have extensive experience in the local booze industry.
Visiting Beer Hug, consumers can search for beer by freshness, style and brewery, and then have it delivered door-to-door. This week, you could order a six-pack of Urbanaut's Gastown IPA which was born on October 4, Double Vision's Repeat Offender Triple IPA from October 3, or Brave Brewing's Tiger Milk IPA which was bottled on October 1.
Further breweries involved include: Hallertau, Boneface, Yeastie Boys, ParrotDog, Sunshine and more. New beers will also be added as brewers release their latest drops.
As a launch special Beer Hug is giving away free delivery until Sunday, 13 October.
