Auckland CBD's Pocha has been serving up some of the best fried chicken in the city since 2005. The Korean restaurant tucked away in the atrium above Chancery offers ten different varieties on its dedicated menu.

After requests from customers to bring its menu outside of the CBD, Pocha has responded by expanding its reach to Mount Roskill. The unlikely move sees a new dedicated Pocha Chicken outlet arrive inside the petrol station on the corner of Dominion and Mount Albert Roads. Put that room temperature mince and cheese back in the pie warmer; Pocha is serving up the best of its fried chicken menu fresh from the deep fryer.

The best-selling 'Almond Krunch' is there — and wings and drums in Pocha's signature crispy almond coated batter can be picked up from four to 20-piece portions. The 'No Kiss' chicken offers crunchy morsels coated in a garlic butter sauce, while the 'Sweet Chilli' offers the balanced Korean-style of sweet and spicy. The 'Volcano' is said to provide the hottest fried chicken experience in the city.

Sides include criss-cut and honey fries and pickled daikon radish for a palate cleanser. You won't be able to elevate your meal with a bottle of pomegranate soju, but we're sure the petrol station fridge will have something to wash all that chicken down.

Find Pocha Chicken inside the Mount Roskill Mobil Station at 386–390 Mount Albert Road. It's open everyday from 11.30am–8.30pm.
