Cornwall Park Creamery

Overview

If you happen to find yourself at a loose end on a sunny Saturday or Sunday (which admittedly is rare at this time of year) and wanting to enjoy an easy snack in the outdoors while soaking up both the rays and a bit of nature, Cornwall Park Creamery is the place for you. This cute little hole-in-the wall, operating out of the side of one of Cornwall Parks historic buildings serves all things cream, ice cream, coffee, waffles with ice cream, milkshakes and a few savouries to keep things interesting.

Their menu is simple, with gourmet filled rolls, fish & chips, pies, cakes and waffles. The waffles are the stand out item, and come with either an absolute slathering of nutella and banana, or two scoops of Rush Munro ice cream. Their waffles have a great texture and are both fluffy and nicely crispy around the edges.

The coffee is not great, but it'll keep you warm for your winter stroll though Cornwall Park. If you're looking for a vitamin hit to fortify you from any winter ailments you can grab one of their homegrown raw juices ($6) - we'd recommend the lemon, honey and ginger.

The Cornwall Park Creamery is perfectly placed for you to find shelter under one of Cornwall Parks many rotundas, or under the massive old tree that stands over the cafe. Bean bags and deck chairs are put out on the hill right by the Creamery so that you can sit and watch the wind in the trees as you enjoy your food. This is a truly great time on a sunny day, and there is a car park right next to the creamery, just in case the weather turns. The only thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth from this experience is the one-use plastic cutlery that they serve their food with, which is unfortunate.

Unfortunately Cornwall Park Creamery is only open at weekends for the time being, until renovations on the building that they are attached to are finished in November. In the meantime though, the Creamery is a great incentive to push yourself into the outdoors for some fresh air and a cuppa, or a sweet treat.
