Dirty Laundry
A new American-influenced eatery from the team behind Botswana Butchery and Harbourside.
Overview
From the team behind the well-established White + Wong's, Botswana Butchery and Harbourside is a brand new eatery set to complete the group of successors.
Seamlessly integrating American influences with the essence of Kiwi culture is Dirty Laundry. It would seem, turning the heads of passersby is a wine display that almost spans the restaurant's entirety and a warming aroma which wafts from the open-plan kitchen to kerbside.
Here, it's clear a no-fuss approach has been adopted to their predominately locally sourced menu. Attention should be turned to dishes like the pork schnitzel. Served with house-made redcurrant jelly, coleslaw and fresh lemon cheek to the side, it's sure to subdue most hunger pangs. Also worth noting is the crispy chicken pide. Constructed with a fiery chilli jam, it's balanced with a cooling Swiss cheese and tomato combination. This reuben-inspired sandwich is a winner lunch option in our books.
Looking for something on the lighter side? We'd recommend ordering the roasted heirloom carrots. Plated are slightly charred heirloom carrots that come accompanied with hummus, shaved parmesan, dukkha and a generous dollop of hummus.
Recognising the drop that sits next to your dish can be just as important as the dish itself, Dirty Laundry's flavoursome offerings extend beyond the grill.
Proving a summer favourite is the Ciao Bella; a fruity blend of 1800 Anejo, Chambord, raspberry puree, and Limoncello. Not only does it look impressive, but it tastes much the same. A sip worth experiencing is the Honey Badger. The combination of Armaro Montenegro, honey, a splash of lemon, gin base and a smoking cinnamon stick, holds this concoction in good stead.
Whether you're after basking in the sunshine with a couple of refreshers or you've got hunger that's needing busting, Dirty Laundry has you looked after.
