Overview

Dragonfired is a small black food trailer that spends most of its time sitting in the carpark at Little Oneroa beach on Waiheke Island. Tis' not a bad spot to spend most of your time.

With a Taniwha carved into the top of its beautiful big Pizza oven, inspired by the elements, and overlooking an often sleepy little bay, Dragonfired encounters a rather bustling trade throughout summer and is widely thought of as the best takeaway spot on the island. Providing artisan, wood-fired, street-food, Dragonfireds menu consists of Pizza, Calzone, Pocketbread, and Polenta. Its simple, healthy, and tasty.

Just as with any food that is worth talking about, it did not happen by accident. The man behind the operation, Bevan Kaan, was in a past life one of Aucklands most highly regarded macrobiotic chefs, who had studied in Switzerland, and opened restaurants in both Dunedin and Auckland before shifting his young family to Waiheke in search of a simpler life.

Open 7 days during summer, Dragonfired is only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the cooler months. Best enjoyed right there on the beach, with good company and a cheeky bottle of red.
