Little Rosie
The perfect takeaway solution if you miss out on a table next door at Rosie.
Overview
From the owners of the esteemed Rosie in Parnell comes new neighbourhood dining venture, Little Rosie. This trendy eatery has been in the works for over six months. With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying the opening, husband and wife team Mike and Amy de Vries are ecstatic to finally see their creation come to life. Previously, the space was occupied by pop-up art galleries and lavish florist, Blush. Little Rosie is now a permanent fixture, providing the perfect takeaway solution to appease the overflow of caffeine-hungry punters who have missed out on a table next door at Rosie.
The lovely wait staff jump back and forth between the two venues. They know your name, your coffee order, and are happy to recommend a delicious treat from the cabinet. Swing by and grab an Allpress coffee, whipped up by the talented baristas. The perfect accompaniment is a chocolate ganache cruffin — think a buttery croissant baked in a muffin tin with a gooey filling ($9). We wouldn't say no to a caramel and macadamia filled doughnut ($5.50) either. If you're heading past on the way to work, grab the breakfast rosti ($6.50) or a bacon and egg croissant ($9). An absolute must-try is the cheesy mushroom lasagna ($16). The perfect item to take home and serve with a side salad for a quick and delicious dinner.
The team are proud to support local producers, growers and bakers. Fresh pastries and breads are delivered daily by both Amano and Dan Cruden aka Baker Dan. The food is locally sourced with full traceability, using New Zealand milled flour and free-range meat and eggs.
The duo have big ideas for Little Rosie, with plans to turn it into an elegant private event space after hours. As well as to open up the courtyard at the back for more dining options, and to add ice cream to their cabinet offerings. We can't wait to grab a scoop and head down to Judge's Bay for a swim when the warmer weather hits.
Schedule a stroll through Parnell's rose gardens and drop by Little Rosie for your afternoon pick-me-up and some of the best coffee in Auckland. Just watch out for the well-groomed dogs and the MAMILs (middle-aged men in lycra).
