Overview

When people ask me why I like living in Freemans Bay, Queenies is one of the reasons that springs to mind. Not only is Queenies beautifully fitted out; filled with quaint NZ memorabilia and a huge paint-by-numbers mural on the wall, it also has the sunniest outside area and a fantastic brunch menu.

I have to say, I do wander down the road for the supreme coffee more than I should, and I love how the menu isn't just your standard big breakfast. Instead, 'Turkish Eggs - poached eggs with baba ghanoush, yoghurt, hot chilli butter & toast' and 'Cassoulet with canallini beans, chorizo, fried egg & ciabatta' are a few of your options. Or there is a great range of sides so you can make up your own scrumptious brunch. My favourite has to be the home tea smoked salmon with lemon mushrooms and avocado ($19 for this combo with toast and a coffee). Gets me every time.

Check out Queenies next time you are craving good coffee, food and service.
