Overview

New Zealand's first Park Hyatt opened in a prime waterfront position last year. The 195-room, five-star hotel has been called a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in New Zealand — and now the opening of the property's $10,000–15,000-per-night Presidential Suite backs up that claim.

The suite, which comes with its own internal courtyard and wrap around balcony, is part of a new collection of large suites in the property. There are six specialty suites available to book — each offering guests a slightly different experience.

The headlining Presidential Suite is said to be the largest hotel room of its kind in New Zealand, standing at 370 square metres. Inside, mod cons sit alongside a baby grand piano in the oversized living room, while a full service kitchen is available for those who would like to bring in a private chef.

Visitors needn't worry about leaving the haven to use the facilities downstairs; the room comes with enough space to host private meetings or perfect your yoga practice. Further, the luxurious bathroom includes a tub with views over Waitematā Harbour and the city. And, yes, the price tag includes breakfast.

The property also offers more modest speciality options for travellers, like the 71-square-metre Harbour Suite, complete with its own dining area, marble bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and private balcony. A connecting room is available to create a two-bedroom suite.

The Executive Suite features a separate living area and powder room with a private balcony, while the Chairman's Suite is an expansive 141-square-metre corner suite on the top floor offering views across the Viaduct and city. It too comes with separate living and dining areas, a full kitchen and private furnished balcony.
