Overview
It's nothing new to take your dog to a farmers' market, but they're often an after-thought to your brunch quest, left navigating the crowds and hanging out for a breach of the five-second rule with a free sample. With doggos being treated more and more like humans, it only makes sense that a weekend market has popped up just for the four-legged.
On the first Sunday of every month starting this October, Parnell's Heard Park will play host to Paws in Parnell, a market designed especially for canines, or those simply looking to be in close proximity to lots and lots of dogs.
The mini-market will feature between 14-18 local dog-centric vendors showing off their stuff, including: Mashbone, who produce dog treats from Garage Project brewery's spent mash byproduct and grass-fed beef; Bark Bag, a company offering customised boxes of New Zealand made treats and toys; and Daisy's Doggy Deli, who offer handmade treats, meaty birthday cakes and adventure walks.
The humans haven't been forgotten; a coffee vendor will be on hand to supply the goods as you shop around to spoil your fur baby.
Find Paws in Parnell at Heard Park on the first Sunday of each month, starting October 1, 9am-12pm.
