Italian eats and Aussie craft beers are set to prove a perfect match, when WA-born Colonial Brewing Co drops by laneway diner Marameo for a special Good Beer Week feasting party.

On Thursday, May 20, the duo’s teaming up to host a shared degustation dinner, with each dish paired or infused with a different Colonial brew. Think, slow-cooked wagyu brisket sliders with the label’s pale ale; truffle-topped spaghetti cacio e pepe with the South West Sour; and a dessert of chocolate and hazelnut bigné (Italian cream puffs) teamed with a limited-edition 2020 brown ale. Plus, plenty more culinary and beery delights.

Tickets to this one clock in at $99, which includes your four-course feed, snacks on arrival and five matched beers.

Taxi Kitchen invites punters to indulge in a little escapism at its sumptuous banquet inspired by a post-hunt feast. Think: long communal tables, merriment in abundance and a menu centred around a whole beast. On Wednesday, May 19, the Fed Square’s Good Swill Hunting dinner celebrates some cracking beers from across Australia and New Zealand. Diners will be treated to a grand spread, running from canapes, to a whole pig — with crackling — and an apple tart to finish.

Each dish will be carefully matched to a tasty beer (or two), including the likes of Brooklyn Brewery’s Pulp Art Hazy IPA and the golden sour ale by White Rabbit. What’s more, brewers from each label will be there to talk you through what you’re drinking as you’re drinking it.

On Saturday, May 15, swing past the free Sailors Grave Regatta party, where you and your mates can battle it out with a program of mini-games and other fun challenges. Sailors Grave will be bringing along a few kegs of their finest for the occasion, pouring an eight-strong tap lineup of core beers and limited-edition releases. Perhaps the Drowned Man IPA, or the lemon meringue cream-inspired sour?

The day’s fun wraps up with the main event, the Sailors Grave Regatta, which will see players racing remote-controlled boats for a shot at glory — and plenty of sweet beery prizes.
