Having won over the seafood lovers of Elsternwick and Mordialloc, Tommy Ruff has set down anchor in Windsor, opening the doors to a third fish bar, on Chapel Street.

In true Tommy Ruff fashion, the new outpost is oceans away from the greasy takeaway joints that once were the norm, instead championing the fresh, the flavoursome, and the healthy(ish). The styling's a whole lot cheerier too, with Studio Equator delivering a breezy, coastal-inspired space you'll actually want to hang out in.

As at the other two stores, Tommy Ruff Windsor caters solidly to those cravings for a classic fish 'n' chip feed, offering a hefty range of market-fresh fish and old school-style meal packs.

That said, even the most traditional of fish fiends will be impressed with the array of other sustainably-sourced seafood delights on offer here. We're talking fresh oysters, Hawaiian poké, bowls of mussels, southern-fried barramundi, and paddle crabs cooked in a dreamy blend of garlic butter, ginger, and white wine. Here, you could opt for a crispy potato cake, or chow down instead on a soft shell crab burger, some zingy fish tacos, or a big pile of crispy school prawns. Now that's fast food worth getting excited about.

Find Tommy Ruff at 121 Chapel Street, Windsor. Open Monday to Sunday 11.30am - 10pm. Walk-ins only.
